Van Kilmer, who played Iceman in the 1986 film 'Top Gun,' went on to play 'greatest swordsman that ever lived' Madmartigan in the cult fantasy film 'Willow' - the movie he says fans continue to ask about when meeting him. Kilmer also played Jim Morrison in the 1991 biopic 'The Doors,' Batman/Bruce Wayne in the 1995 film 'Batman Forever,' Chris Shiherlis in the 1995 movie 'Heat' and voiced Moses AND God in the 1998 animated flick 'The Prince of Egypt.'
Kilmer would later also play Moses in the 2004 Los Angeles musical 'The Ten Commandments,' which also starred Adam Lambert, who would later go on to become an 'American Idol' finalist and glam rocker.
Also in 2004, Kilmer played a Sherpa who grew marijuana in an episode of the HBO drama series 'Entourage.' In 2005, he starred in the film 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' and in 2008, he provided the voice of K.I.T.T. in a short-lived remake of the series 'Knight Rider.'
Kilmer played Dieter Von Cunth in the 2010 'SNL'-inspired film 'MacGruber' and also stars in the crime film 'Blood Out,' which was released in 2011. Kilmer as of May 2011 has several movies in production, including Francis Ford Coppola's 'Twixt Now and Sunrise.'
Kilmer married British actress Joanne Whalley, who played his love interest Sorsha in 'Willow,' in 1988. They have a daughter, Mercedes, who was born in 1991, and son, Jack, who was born in 1995. Kilmer and Whalley divorced in 1996.
