Director Woody Allen made headlines in mid-August of 1992 when, at the age of 56, The New York Daily News reported that he was in a relationship with 21-year-old Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, his girlfriend of over 10 years and the leading lady in 13 of his films.
Farrow discovered the relationship when she found nude photos of Previn taken in Allen's Manhattan duplex. The revelation sent Allen's name in the headlines and played out in court in a custody battle over Farrow and Allen's biological son Satchel.
Farrow had adopted Soon-Yi at age 8 with then-husband Andre Previn in 1978. The couple divorced in 1979 and Farrow began dating Allen in 1980.
When asked about the scandal in a June 2011 with Reuters, Allen, then 75, replied, 'What was the scandal? I fell in love with this girl, married her. We have been married for almost 15 years now. There was no scandal, but people refer to it all the time as a scandal and I kind of like that in way because when I go I would like to say I had one real juicy scandal in my life.'
Allen and Previn wed in December 1997 in Venice, Italy and have two adopted daughters.
