Tom Cruise tops 2012 Forbes list of highest-paid actors

7 of 11: Johnny Depp is No. 7 on Forbes' 2012 list of highest-paid actors. The outlet said he earned about $30 million between May 2011 and May 2012.

During that time, he appeared in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' the fourth movie in the franchise, which made more than $1.04 billion worldwide. He also starred in 'The Rum Diary,' which was a box office flop. In 2012, Depp teamed up with longtime friend Tim Burton to appear in his movie 'Dark Shadows,' which received mixed reviews but made $227 million.

Depp can be seen next in Disney's film adaptation of 'The Lone Ranger' as Tonto. The movie is set for release on July 3, 2013.

Depp was No. 2 on Forbes' annual list in 2011. The outlet said he earned about $50 million between May 2010 and May 2011.
