Geena Davis played naive but brave Thelma in the 1991 film 'Thelma and Louise' alongside Susan Sarandon, who played her friend Louise and Brad Pitt, who played a paroled robber who befriends the two as they go on the run after shooting a man who tried to assault Thelma.
Since the film was released, Davis starred movies such as the 1992 baseball drama 'A League of Our Own,' the 1995 movie 'Cutthroat Island' and the 'Stuart Little' children's films. In 2000, she starred in her own television series, 'The Geena Davis Show,' which ended a year later.
Davis also played the U.S. president in the television show 'Commander In Chief,' which ran between 2005 and 2006. Her last major role was in 2009, when she starred in the comedy film 'Accidents Happen.' Two years earlier, she launched the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, which aims to discourage stereotyping of women in the entertainment industry.
Davis was married to Richard Emmolo between 1982 and 1983 and to actor Jeff Goldblum - with whom she starred in three films - between 1987 and 1990. Davis married 'Cutthroat Island' and 'Die Hard 2' director Renny Harlin in 1993 and the two divorced in 1998.
In 2001, Davis married Reza Jarrahy, a plastic surgeon. They have three children - Alizeh, who was born in 2002, and twin sons , Kian and Kaiis, who were born in 2004.
