Jerry O'Connell was about 12 when he played Vern in the 1986 film 'Stand By Me,' which was his first on-screen role. He went on to star as Andrew on the sci-fi series 'My Secret Identity' between 1988 and 1991 and played Brody in the 1990s series 'Camp Wilder.' In 1996, he befriended cockroaches in the movie 'Joe's Apartment.'
After small parts in the 1996 film 'Jerry Maguire' and the teen movies 'Scream 2' and 'Can't Hardly Wait,' O'Connell returned to television, playing Quinn in the sci-fi series 'Sliders' between 1995 and 1999. In 1999, he also played Mariah Carey's love interest in her music video 'Heartbreaker.'
Throughout the next decade, O'Connell starred in the comedy movies 'Tomcats' and 'Kangaroo Jack' and in the shows 'Las Vegas' and 'Crossing Jordan.'
In 2007, O'Connell married actress and model Rebecca Romijn, who was once John Stamos' wife. O'Connell and Romijn are parents to twin daughters, who were born in 2008.
Also that year, O'Connell spoofed his 'Jerry Maguire' co-star Tom Cruise in an online video that parodied an interview the actor had given about his religion, Scientology.
O'Connell guest-starred on Romijn's short-lived drama series 'Eastwick' in 2009 and 2010. Also in 2010, he began starring in the series 'The Defenders' with Jim Belushi. The show was canceled after one season. In June 2012, it was reported that he is set to play Herman Munster in NBC's upcoming TV reboot of 'The Munsters,' called 'Mockingbird Lane.'
