6 of 10: When asked what his 'a-ha moment' was, when he realized that the album 'Nevermind' had become bigger than himself, Dave Grohl, Nirvana's drummer who is now the singer of the Food Fighters, told the Associated Press: 'I'd say "Saturday Night Live.' Being asked to be on 'SNL' was without a doubt that moment for me. That's when I thought, 'Oh my God. We're one of THOSE bands now.'

'Then, in the dressing room, that's when (expletive) Weird Al Yankovic calls and asks if he can do a parody of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit,' Grohl said. 'That was a weird weekend. That was it for me.'

Nirvana has performed on the NBC sketch comedy show 'Saturday Night Live' twice. During the first performance, in 1992, Kurt Cobain appeared on stage with his hair dyed red. After performing two songs, the band trashed the stage. The group performed on 'Saturday Night Live' again in 1993. They played their songs 'Heart-Shaped Box' and 'Rape Me.'
