The movie is a remake of a classic dance-oriented 1984 Kevin Bacon film. Kenny Wormald plays Ren McCormack, who leads a group of teenagers in a small town in the South to rebel against local rules against dancing and rock 'n' roll. Hough plays his headstrong love interest, Ariel Moore, whose father is a minister who leads the anti-dance movement.
