Ewan McGregor earned a 2013 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical for his role in the film 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,' which is also nominated for Best Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical. The actor plays a British fisheries expert that a sheik, played by Amr Waked, hires in a bid to help introduce salmon fishing to his people.
'Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this nomination,' McGregor said in a statement. 'Its wonderful that our movie left its mark. Emily Blunt is such a talent and a joy to work with, and I'm so happy the HFPA recognized her performance, as well as our film. I look forward to the Golden Globes, as they are always fun and send my congratulations to all those who believed and participated in Lasse's vision.
This is McGregor's second Golden Globe nomination - he received his first nod in 2002, for the movie 'Moulin Rouge!'
Emily Blunt plays the sheik's representative and was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical for her role. This marks her fourth nomination. She has won one Golden Globe -- for her role in the 2005 British TV mini-series 'Gideon's Daughter.'
