Natalie Portman received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for "Black Swan", which sees her play a shy ballerina fighting to keep her starring role and her dark side in check while being challenged by a rival dancer (Mila Kunis) and manipulative dance master (Vincent Cassel). The movie earned a total of four nods.
Portman said in a statement: "I'm very honored by the HFPA nomination, and to be included in this group of actresses I so admire. The experience of filming 'Black Swan' with Darren Aronofsky and our incredible crew is already the most fulfilling experience of my career. The audience appreciation of the film is only furthering how grateful and proud I am to be part of the film."
