After 'Ghostbusters 2' was released in 1989, Murray, who played Dr. Peter Venkman, went on to play a misanthropic weatherman in the 1993 comedy 'Groundhog Day' and also starred in the Wes Anderson movies 'Rushmore' in 1998, 'The Royal Tenenbaums' in 2001, 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou' in 2004 and 'The Darjeeling Limited' in 2007.
Murray earned an Oscar nomination for his role as a soul-searching movie star in the 2003 Sofia Coppola film 'Lost In Translation,' which also starred Scarlett Johansson. He also voiced Garfield the cat in a 2004 animated film of the same name and in a 2006 sequel.
Murray has been divorced twice and has six sons. He was married to his first wife, costume designer Mickey Kelley, between 1981 and 1994. They have two sons together - Homer, born in 1982, and Luke, born in 1985.
In 1997, Murray married Jennifer Butler. They divorced in 2008. The two have four sons together - Caleb, born in 1993, Jackson, born in 1995, Cooper, born in 1997 and Lincoln, born in 2001.
