Juror ALTERNATE No. 5 is a 40-year-old married, Hispanic father of two who lives in Whittier, California and has worked as a mail carrier for 13 years. He has no college experience.
He says he considers himself a fan of Michael Jackson and sometimes listens to his music and has some of the singer's songs on his iPod.
His hobbies include off-road riding and camping. He says he watches television channels such as the DIY Network, the Discovery Channel and the Food Network and the program 'American Choppers.'
The man says he follows the news a few times a week and gets most of his information on current events from radio and television reports, as well as from the Los Angeles Times. He says he has occasionally visits TMZ.com and has never accessed or read blogs about Conrad Murray or Jackson.
The man says he has served on a jury for a criminal case before, calling it a 'great learning experience.' He said he has also served as a witness in a criminal case and testified in it that he saw a person stealing mail from a mailbox. This experience, he said, made him 'feel good' about the criminal justice system.
The man says has not followed news about other publicized court cases, such as the trials of O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony.
He says that prior to the start of the trial, he heard about the case from television reports and through family and friends but did not follow the news closely.
The man says she has no experience with the medications that caused Jackson's overdose.
