Jeffrey Jones played Principal Ed Rooney in the 1986 comedy film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and inspired the name of the Los Angeles-based rock group Rooney.
In 2003, Jones pleaded no contest to a felony charge of paying a 14-year-old boy to pose for nude photographs. He was given five years of probation and was ordered to attend counseling and register as a sex offender, which means he must keep his address current.
In June 2010, Jones was arrested and charged with failing to update his registration in California within five days of his 63rd birthday. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 250 hours of community service as well as three more years of probation. The actor was also arrested in 2004 in Florida for failing to register as a sex offender in the state.
