Maria Shriver filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 1, 2011, more than a month after he acknowledged fathering a child more with a member of his household staff.
The actor's alleged mistress, Mildred Baena, told Hello! magazine in an interview published in mid-June that Shriver asked her 'point blank' if her son was Schwarzenegger's. When she said he was, Shriver reportedly cried with her, Baena said.
Shriver and Schwarzenegger have not commented on the Hello! magazine report, which also featured a photo of Baena and her son, who looks like Schwarzenegger.
The actor, who is also the former governor of California, admitted to his extramarital affair but did not Baena by name, following a Los Angeles Times article about his secret child, which was published in mid-May.
Baena retired in January after working as couple's housekeeper for some 20 years, ABC News had said. She and her boy have been in hiding since news of the affair broke.
After news of the actor's secret son broke, Schwarzenegger said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com: 'After leaving the Governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family.'
'There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused,' he added. 'I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.
In December 2011, it was reported that Schwarzenegger spent Christmas with Shriver and their children. The two have not commented.
