38 of 186: Judith Crist, a film critic who worked for the 'Today' show, TV Guide and the New York Herald Tribune, died at age 90.

Crist's son Steven Crist said that his mother died on Tuesday, August 7 at her Manhattan home, after battling a long illness.

She was the first woman to become a full-time critic at a major U.S. newspaper and was one of the first reviewers of her time to gain a national following.

Crist was known for her biting reviews. Director Otto Preminger once dubbed her 'Judas Crist,' after she called his 'Hurry Sundown' the 'worst film' she had seen in memory.
