27 of 186: Hal David, the legendary songwriter who wrote 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head,' died in Los Angeles on September 1 at age 91.

David died of complications from a stroke, according to Jim Steinblatt, spokesman for ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. David was a longtime member and former president of the organization.

David and his writing partner Burt Bacharach penned dozens of top 40 hits, including 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head,' 'Magic Moments,' 'Do You Know the Way to San Jose,' 'Walk On By,' 'I Say a Little Prayer,' '(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me' 'Close to You' and 'That's What Friends Are For.'
