Sammi Kane Kraft, who portrayed Amanda Whurlitzer in the 2005 remake of 'Bad News Bears,' has died in a car accident in Los Angeles on October 9, at age 20.
The former actress was a passenger in an Audi that rear-ended a big rig and was hit by another car on Los Angeles' Interstate 10, according to the Associated Press. Kraft was pronounced dead at the hospital while the 21-year-old female driver was treated for moderate injuries and arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Kraft portrayed the pitcher and only female member on an all-male baseball team in 'Bad News Bears,' a role which was originated by Tatum O'Neal in the original 1976 film. She was discovered at age 13, while pitching on an LA baseball diamond.
