6 of 84: Patrice O'Neal, a comedian and actor who appeared on Charlie Sheen's Comedy Central roast, died at age 41 in a New York hospital on Nov. 29, 2011, a month after suffering a stroke that was spurred by his diabetes. At the time of his death, the 6'5" comedian weighed about 300 pounds, People magazine said.

'It is with terrible sadness we must report that Patrice O'Neal has passed away this morning at 7:00am due to the complications of the stroke he suffered on October 19,' according to a message on his official website. 'Many of us have lost a close and loved friend; all of us have lost a true comic genius. His mother, who was also his best friend, was at his side.'

O'Neal's manager, Jonathan Brandstein, said in a statement: 'Many of us have lost a close and loved friend; all of us have lost a true comic genius.'

Patrice is survived by his wife, Vondecarlo, his step daughter Aymilyon, sister Zinder, and his mother Georgia.

O'Neal took part in the 'Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen' the previous September and also appeared on the 'Opie and Anthony' radio show regularly. He also had parts in television shows such as 'The Office,' 'Chappelle's Show' and in films such as 'Scary Movie 4.'

'The entertainment world as well as the world at large lost a brilliant man today,' Sheen Tweeted. 'Patrice had that rare 'light' around him and inside of him. I only knew him for the few days leading up the Roast. Yet I will forever be inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent. My tears today are for the tremendous loss to his true friends and loving family.'
