Fantasia Barrino, the first single mother to win 'American Idol,' gave birth to her second child, a baby boy named Dallas Xavier, at a hospital in her native North Carolina on Dec. 13, 2011.
She announced her pregnancy on On July 31, 2011 at a charity concert in Jacksonville, Florida that she is pregnant. She had revealed on 'The Wendy Williams Show' on Oct. 11, 2011 that she is expecting a boy. She has not reveal the name of her baby's father.
Barrino was a 19-year-old impoverished single mother of a 2-year-old child when she auditioned for the third season of 'American Idol,' which aired in 2004. Her daughter, Zion, turned 10 on August 8, 2011.
Barrino was last linked to a man named Antwaun Cook. In 2010, Paula Cook, his ex-wife, claimed in court that Barrino had had an affair with her husband in August 2009 and that it had spurred the couple's divorce. Barrino said that the man had told her he was separated. The scandal spurred her to attempt suicide. She talked about her overdose attempt in an interview on ABC's 'Good Morning America.'
'I think I was just overloaded with everything, with carrying six years of so much,' Barrino said. 'I always take a licking and keep on ticking. It just became heavy for me to the point that I just wanted to be away from the noise. The first little piece of drama that they can find, it blew up so much and I just began to get tired of taking so many licks.'
