Cheryl Tiegs, known for her work as a model, designer, author, businesswoman and public speaker, is one of the 2012 contestants of Donald Trump's reality show 'The Celebrity Apprentice.'
Tiegs announced on January 4 that she will compete to try to raise awareness for the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, according to a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. Celebrity contestants on the show aim to win prize money for charities.
'I have been extremely impressed with the works of The Farrah Fawcett Foundation since its inception,' the group quoted Tiegs as saying. 'It is my hope that I can bring further awareness to the Foundation's mission of finding a cure for this dreadful disease and bring help, support and hope for those cancer patients in need.'
Fawcett, star of the 1970s series 'Charlie's Angels,' died of anal cancer at age 62 on June 25.
Her on-again, off-again boyfriend Ryan O'Neal has often spoken about her death in the press. In 2011, he and his daughter Tatum starred in their own reality show on the cable network OWN.
