Celebrities who have battled breast cancer

2 of 15: Kathy Bates revealed that she battled breast cancer and was recovering from a double mastectomy. The Oscar-winning actress revealed earlier in the year that she battled ovarian cancer nine years ago.

'Hey All, sorry for the long silence. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago and am recovering from a double mastectomy,' Bates Tweeted on September 12. 'I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss Harry's Law. ;-) Thanks for all the sweet tweets. Y'all kept me going.'

It was announced in May that NBC had cancelled the Emmy-winning legal drama, 'Harry's Law,' which starred Bates as unconventional lawyer, Harriet Korn.

The 64-year-old actress won an Oscar in 1990 for 'Misery' and is known for roles in 'Titanic,' 'Fried Green Tomatoes' and 'About Schmidt.'
