Australian pop star and former soap opera actress Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36 in May 2005 after finding a lump on her left breast, which prompted her to cancel some concerts. She immediately had the lump removed and also underwent six months of chemotherapy for the disease, which was said to have been in its early stages.
In January 2006, her spokespeople said test results showed Minogue had no recurrence of the disease.
In April 2008, Minogue said on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' that her cancer was initially misdiagnosed, adding: 'My message to all of you and everyone at home is, because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments, doesn't necessarily mean they are right. If you have any doubt, go back again.'
In January 2011, Minogue celebrated five years of being cancer-free.
