Mark Hamill wants Barack Obama to be re-elected president in the 2012 election. He had some harsh remarks about Republican candidate Mitt Romney when he talked to OnTheRedCarpet.com at San Diego Comic-Con on July 13, 2012 (pictured).
The 60-year-old actor, best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the original 'Star Wars' films, made his remarks while reminiscing about a show he used to watch as a kid - the Disney-produced 1950s series 'Zorro.'
'I knew nothing about Mexican history or anything,' he said. 'But just the idea of a privileged person fighting for the underdog - there's something very romantic about that,' he said. 'I guess it goes back to Robin Hood. People that are fighting for the middle class and for the Have-Nots. It's something that we see even playing out in the presidential race.'
'And if you don't vote for Barack Obama, you're insane,' he added. ''Cause without him, I think the middle class will completely disappear. And you look at Romney and I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I think he's like The Thing - he only imitates human behavior. He's not actually human himself. Do you know he had lemonade on the campaign trail last week, he said, 'Lemon. Wet. Good.' Really! He said that! So God bless him, I'm enjoying him running for office but I just came out as a lifelong democrat.'
