Connie Britton. currently of ABC's 'Nashville' and formerly of 'Friday Night Lights,' has contributed $31,450 to Democratic party causes - including Barack Obama's 2008 and 2012 election campaigns.
In October 2012, she and 'Friday Night Lights' executive producer, Sarah Aubrey, teamed up to co-write an op-ed piece in USA Today, in which they called out Republican candidate Mitt Romney for his usage of the show's slogan in his election campaign. They said the women in Dillon, the town featured on the series, would 'hate' Romney and also praised Obama's 'landmark Affordable Care Act,' which they said 'has been transformative for women.'
