19 of 21: Betty White had originally been cast for the role as boy-crazy Blanche Dubois on the 1980s series 'The Golden Girls,' but the director had suggested that Rue McClanahan and White switch roles. The reason was because White had already played the aggressive role of Sue Ann Nivens on the 1970s series 'Mary Tyler Moore' while McClanahan played the introverted role of Vivian on the 1970s show 'Maude,' so it was decided that they wouldn't reprise similar characters.
