Emma Stone, who plays Peter Parker's blonde love interest Gwen Stacy in the new 2012 'Spider-Man' movie, dropped out of high school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. She also worked part-time at a dog bakery before she scored her breakout role in the 2007 movie 'Superbad' and also later starred in the 2010 film 'Easy A.'
As is the case with most actors, Stone faced rejection before she became famous. Stone told Vanity Fair magazine in an interview for its August 2011 issue that she was once was turned down for a potential role on the NBC action series 'Heroes,' which aired between 2006 and 2010 and was once one of the network's biggest hits. She considers the missed opportunity her hardest Hollywood moment and described her audition.
'I could hear that, in the other room, a girl had just gone in and they were saying, 'You are our pick ... On a scale of 1 to 10 you're an 11,' Stone told Vanity Fair, adding that Hayden Panettiere, who ended up playing main character Claire Bennet, then walked out of the room. 'I went home and just had this meltdown.'
