Originally, Johnny Depp wanted to be a rock star before he hit it big as an actor. He pursued a career as a musician for several years before he made his on-screen debut with the 1984 movie 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' and later rose to fame with the series '21 Jump Street.' However, before all that, Depp worked as an over-the-phone salesman, peddling pens! He made $13,500 a year, Parade magazine says.
Depp still plays music and sometimes makes surprise appearances at concerts of major stars. On June 26, 2011, he joined Alice Cooper on stage at a London concert, backing him up on guitar (pictured).
