9 of 32: Even though she made it to the finals and was eliminated, Jennifer Hudson has proven to be one of the most successful 'American Idol' contestants. Hudson made her debut appearance on the film, 'Dreamgirls' in 2006, earning herself an Academy Award for 'Best Supporting Actress,' Golden Globe, an NAACP Image Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2008, Hudson won a Grammy for 'Best R and B Album.'

Besides being a Grammy winner, 2008 was also a heartbreaking year for her. That same year, tragedy struck - her mother, brother, and nephew were murdered. Overcoming her tragic struggles, Hudson has reemerged back into the spotlight in 2009, even stronger than before and having her first child. Hudson played Louise, Carrie's personal assistant on 'Sex and the City' and also had roles on 'Fragments' and 'The Secret Life of Bees.'

Most recently, Hudson has been very open about her fitness goals, losing 60 pounds and becoming the spokesperson for 'Weight Watchers.' As of February 2011, Hudson is preparing herself for the release of her new album 'I Remember Me,' set to hit stores on March 22, 2011. ( Photo / Weight Watchers/JenniferHudson.com)
