David Archuleta began his singing career at an early age. At the age of 16 he got to compete in 'American Idol,' coming in second on season seven. In August of 2008, Archuleta released his first single 'Crush,' from his self-titled album, an album that debuted at No. 2 and sold well over 900,000 copies worldwide.
In 2010, Archuleta released his second album, 'The Other Side Down,' with hits like 'Something 'Bout Love.' In early 2011, it was reported that he was dropped by his record label. In December, he announced he was taking a break from music to embark on a Mormon mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He did not specify where he planned to travel.
