5 of 31: Fantasia Barrino took the crown as the winner of the third season of 'American Idol' in 2004, becoming the show's youngest winner at the time at the age of 19.

Barrino's debut solo album, 'Free Yourself,' debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart and later went onto release 'Fantasia' in 2006, 'Back to Me' in 2010 and 'Side Effects of You' in 2013. In addition to her success as a recording artist, Fantasia became a New York Times best-selling author with the autobiography 'Life Is Not a Fairytale,' which was turned into a Lifetime Television film in 2006, for which she portrayed herself in. In 2007, Barrino landed the role of Celie in the Broadway show 'The Color Purple' and is set to return to the Broadway stage in the musical 'After Midnight' beginning in November 2013.

Barrino starred in her own VH1 reality show titled 'Fantasia for Real' for two seasons. The singer has two children, a daughter name Zion Quari Barrino, who was born prior to her time on 'American Idol' in 2001, and a son named Dallas Xavier Barrino , who was born in December 2011.
