At just 17 years old, Jordin Sparks was crowned the winner of season 6 of 'American Idol' in 2007 and was at the time the youngest winner the show has awarded to-date.
After winning the singing competition series, Sparks went onto release her self-titled debut album at the end of 2007, which featured the hit singles 'Tattoo,' 'One Step At a Time' and 'No Air,' a duet featuring Chris Brown. In 2009, she released the album 'Battlefield,' which was lead by the single of the same name. Sparks toured heavily to promote her two albums, joining acts such as Alicia Keys, Britney Spears and The Jonas Brothers out on the road.
Sparks made her feature film debut in the 2012 remake of the film 'Sparkle,' which also co-starred the late Whitney Houston. Of her time on set with the iconic singer, Sparks recalled in an interview with OTRC.com, 'We all knew it was something special while we were filming, but the things she said - I remember being in a scene and she goes, 'Was my life not enough of a cautionary tale for you?' and I remember at that moment just having chills.'
