3 of 11: 'Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI' (1986) Arguably one of the first self-referential horror films. Part VI dispenses quickly with any notion that the long-running slasher series is grounded in reality, and dives right in with absurdist and even comedic situations. 'Why'd they have to go and dig up Jason,' a gravedigger laments, before turning to the camera with a sly, 'Some folks sure got a strange idea of entertainment.'
