Zac Efron in talks to star in Nicholas Sparks film 'The Lucky One'

Audiences might soon see Zac Efron in a marine uniform. The young heartthrob is in talks to star in The Lucky One, a film based on a Nicholas Sparks novel according to Variety. The story is about a marine who survives several tours in Iraq and believes his good luck is the result of a photograph he carries around of a woman he never met. 

Earlier the actor told OnTheRedCarpet.com that he is looking for more complex roles. "What I'm sort of craving inside was something that was a challenge, that was different, that might not work. Like some risk," he said of his role in Charlie St. Cloud.

Sparks has had several film adaptations of his work including,Nights in Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember, and most notably, The Notebookwith Ryan Gosseling and Rachel McAdams. That film grossed over $102 million worldwide.

What other role would Efron want to take on? He said in a recent YouTube video where he answered questions asked by his Facebook fans  that he would love to guest star on The Office, because Steve Carell is amazing. Efron doesnt have much time left to be on the small screen with Carell. The funny man announced in June hes leaving after this upcoming season.
