Wendie Malick, who stars alongside Betty White in the sitcom "Hot in Cleveland", turned 60 on Monday and says that she is happy to star on a show that celebrates women "in every stage in their lives".

Her co-stars recently surprised her on the set of the show with a birthday cake and champagne.

"I did not expect this," she told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "I am so blessed with just being here with these fabulous women every day that this is like the greatest birthday present I could ask for.

"Hot in Cleveland", a TV Land show that also stars Valerie Bertinelli and Jane Leeves, depicts a group of Los Angeles women burned out by their previous careers in the entertainment industry who then move to Cleveland. White plays the caretaker of a home one of them leases.

Malick is also known for the comedy shows "Just Shoot Me" and "Dream On".

"In this town, it used to be that you sort of hid behind a rock and never shared your age with anyone," she said. "This show is, I think, so much about celebrating women in every stage in their lives and I am in such excellent company to do that."

White, the last remaining cast member of the 1980s series "The Golden Girls" who is enjoying a pop culture comeback, praised Malick, saying: "She's not only funny, not only beautiful but she's such a pro. It's a pleasure and a privilege to work with her."
