Victoria and David Beckham nab invite to royal wedding
Victoria and David Beckham are two of the lucky few to receive an invitation to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Victoria Beckham chatted about her excitement about the wedding invite during a radio interview, according to the U.K. paper The Telegraph.
"I think we're both going to be there and we're very, very excited. We're very proud to be English and we're incredibly excited about this," Beckham said.
Beckham, who is pregnant with the couple's fourth child, made the comments during an interview on Heart radio with Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who is also pregnant.
"We're so excited to have been invited and it's going to be amazing if we can go to the wedding and you have your baby at the same time," she added.
The wedding invitations were sent out in February to around 1,900 guests. In a statement, the Prince's office said it would not disclose details of individual guests. About 1,000 guests will be the family and friends of the prince, his bride and their parents. Around 80 guests will come from charities which the prince supports, including African wildlife charity Tusk, and Centrepoint, which helps young homeless people.
The wedding, which takes place at Westminster Abbey ceremony on April 29, will feature high profile guests and English royalty. Though the names of the guests have not been released, it has been confirmed that Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, has not been invited.
The ceremony is set to begin at 11 a.m. (GMT) which is 6 a.m. (ET). Middleton will arrive at Westminster Abbey by car, not in a glass coach which William's mother, the late Princess Diana, used in her ceremony.
Prince Harry named as the best man and Middleton's sister Pippa will act as her maid of honor.
The Beckhams recently announced that they are expecting a baby girl in the summer. The couple already has three sons, 11-year-old Brooklyn, 8-year-old Romeo and 5-year-old Cruz.
Another Spice Girl member, Mel. B, or "Scary Spice," is also pregnant with her third baby, which will be her first with husband Stephen Belafonte.
