Victoria and David Beckham expecting a baby girl
David and Victoria Beckham are expecting a baby girl this summer, the soccer star announced on Friday.
David and Victoria have both said they wanted a baby girl since the couple already has three sons, 11-year-old Brooklyn, 8-year-old Romeo and 5-year-old Cruz.
"Obviously, we're very lucky to be expecting again," David announced at an L.A. Galaxy fan luncheon on Friday, ESPN reports. "And this is the first time I'm going to say it: It's a little girl."
"We're still in shock. Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon," the soccer pro added. "Our three boys are happy and excited, and Victoria is doing well."
Victoria also announced her excitement on a recent episode of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."
"I'm excited," Victoria told Jimmy Fallon in February. "Either it'll be a girl or a boy to add to the three boys we have and we'll have half of a five-a-side football team with David, we've got so much testosterone in our family!"
In January, their representative confirmed the pregnancy in a statement to People magazine, their representative said, "David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer." The two married on July 4, 1999 in Ireland.
Victoria Beckham, 36, was a member of the girl group, the Spice Girls, and was known as Posh Spice. Her fellow bandmate, Emma Bunton, aka "Baby Spice," announced in November 2010 that she was expecting her second child.
"So our family grows, we are SO excited to announce we're having our 2nd baby and beau's wish for a brother or sister has come true!" Bunton, 34, said on her Twitter page on November 4. Beau is Bunton 3-year-old son with boyfriend Jade Jones, 31. People magazine said Bunton is due to give birth in May 2011.
