Actress Valerie Bertinelli got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 22 and was joined by her "Hot in Cleveland" co-stars.

The 52-year-old actress, who got her start on the 1980s sitcom "One Day at a Time," received the 2,476th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at 6912 Hollywood Boulevard.

In her speech, Bertinelli thanked her husband Tom Vitale and son Wolfgang "Wolfie" Van Halen, her son from her first marriage to rocker Eddie Van Halen. She also thanked her "absolutely amazing" parents, her manager, publicist, her friends, fans and her "Hot In Cleveland" cast and crew. She also thanked Jenny Craig.

"I cannot believe at this stage of my life, this is happening to me and I get to have the best job on television," Bertinelli said. "I have to really thank the most amazing people at Jenny Craig. They have been so good to me for so many years. They gave me my life back, really and I am truly honored to be their ambassador."

She was feted by her "Hot in Cleveland" TV Land sitcom co-stars Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White.

"Valerie, my dazzling friend. We've been friends now for, I think it's 20 years and I've watched you spectacularly juggle motherhood, family and career in such a spectacular way," Jane Leeves, who is known for her stint on "Frasier" said in her speech. "You have a natural inquisitiveness, you're kind, you're up for almost anything. But I think that's part of the reason you're such an amazing actress and a terrific friend. You're also the first person I ever knew who mastered the computer, which makes us very old. I love you and congratulations on this well-deserved honor."

"I never met Liz Bertinelli until about a week before we started our show and was immediately embraced by this hot-blooded Italian phenomenon. Once you're in Valerie's life, you sort of become part of her familia," Wendie Malick, known for her role on "Just Shoot Me!" said. "And I think, with the exception of her husband Tom, we get to spend the most time with this woman every day during this show that we all love so much and I have four words that would describe Valerie best to me and that is 'loving,' 'loyal,' 'best laugh imaginable' and 'loud.' She is the loudest woman I have ever met. But it only endears us to her and we among her extended family are so grateful to be a part of it."

Betty White, who received a star on February 18, 1988 when she starred on "The Golden Girls," emphasized what a huge honor it is to receive a star.

"Val, dear, I am thrilled with this honor for you today and it really is an honor. Years and years, decades ago, when they were just trying to fill up those places, I got a star 'cause I was on television, five and a half hours a day, six days a week and they thought I should have something, so they put a star down," Betty White said in her speech. "At that point, it was free. They just wanted to fill up the sidewalk. But this is a real honor 'cause somebody has to sponsor it and it costs bucks, it really does. But you can't buy it - you'll have to be honored by it. So I hope you'll cherish this honor as we all do - we love to brag about it - 'We know Valerie Bertinelli.' She is the dearest, she is the most well-deserving and we love her so much."

Of her 90-year-old co-star, Bertinelli said, "[Betty] is amazing and like this honor itself, she set the bar very, very high."

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce oversees the Walk of Fame ceremonies and a special committee selects which celebrities are eligible for a star, which costs recipients about $30,000.

After the ceremony, Jenny Craig hosted a luncheon for Bertinelli, who serves as a spokeswoman for the weight loss company and lost 40 pounds five years ago.

Bertinelli married financial planner Tom Vitale on New Year's Day 2011. The wedding took place at Bertinelli's Malibu home in front of 100 family members and friends, including Eddie Van Halen and their son Wolfgang.

The ladies of "Hot in Cleveland" are set to return to filming next week. The show's fourth season is set to premiere on November 28.
