Usher grilled in court about affair with ex-wife Tameka's bridesmaid
Usher Raymond had a particularly awkward moment in court, when he was accused of sleeping with his ex-wife Tameka Foster's bridesmaid during their marriage.
Foster's lawyer interrogated Usher regarding his claims that his ex-wife hired new nannies for their children, 4-year-old Usher Raymond V and 3-year-old Naviyd Ely, without consulting him first.
Tameka's lawyer then asked Usher if one of the nannies, Maya Fox Davis left after being "discovered in bed" with the singer. According to TMZ, Davis was a bridesmaid at the couple's 2007 wedding.
Usher's lawyer immediately objected to the questioning. He also objected when his client was questioned about his alleged ecstasy use, though Usher admitted in court to smoking marijuana in the past.
Usher filed for divorce in June 2009, claiming that the couple had lived separately for nearly a year of their two year marriage. Their ugly child custody battle has been playing out in Fulton County court in Atlanta this week.
The 33-year-old R&B singer broke down in tears while testifying on May 22. Usher testified that Tameka spit at and tried to fight his girlfriend. He also said that she hit him during the nasty fight, but he did not press charges because "I didn't want the boys to know that their father put their mother in jail."
Tameka's attorney claimed the singer provoked his client and suggested that his account of the incident is exaggerated. The trial is currently in recess and is set to resume in July.
Usher has made some forlorned posts on social networking site since beginning the court battle. According to ABC News, the singer shared a photo of himself on Facebook with his head bowed while Tameka smirks behind him with the caption, "how can you get this much joy out of someone's pain?" The post was later deleted.
He also posted a photo of what he called a "Misfortune Cookie," which featured the fortune, "Love is like war; easy to begin but hard to stop."
Meanwhile, Tameka slammed the media for what she claims to be biased towards her famous ex-husband, Tweeting on May 23, "Media is an amazing machine.. so easily bought by politics, money & popularity. Truth is rarely sought.. they show one sided accounts 2 sway."
Usher signed his first recording contract when he was 14 years old, with "X-Factor" judge L.A. Reid. His debut album was released in 1994 and featured co-executive producer Sean "Puffy" Combs. The seven time Grammy-winner has put out seven albums in total, including his upcoming release, "Looking 4 Myself," which will be available on June 12.
Usher is slated to take on the role of Sugar Ray Leonard in the upcoming film "Hands of Stone," about boxer Roberto 'Hands of Stone' Duran (Gael Garcia Bernal), which is currently filming in Colombia.
