U2 performing 'Ordinary Love' at the Oscars
U2 will perform the song "Ordinary Love" during the live Oscar Awards ceremony on March 2.
It was announced on Feb. 12 that the Irish rock group will take to the stage to perform the track, featured in the film "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom."
"Ordinary Love" is nominated in the Original Song category, along with "The Moon Song" from the film "Her" performed by Karen O, "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2" performed by Pharrell Williams and "Let it Go" from Disney's "Frozen" performed by Idina Menzel.
Menzel was also recently announced as a performer during the Oscars ceremony. She tweeted about her excitement for the performance, saying, "It's really happening. I'm singing on the Oscars! Surreal. Thank u frozen family and Oscar producers for this incredible opportunity."
In addition to their Oscar nomination, U2 recently released the single "Invisible" for free during a commercial during Super Bowl XLVIII. The song was a part of a partnership with (RED) by Bank of America, where along with every download of the song, $1 went to the AIDS-fighting charity.
