In the movie, the sequel to the 1982 film set for release on December 17, Flynn, a programmer, and his tech-savvy son, portrayed by Garret Hedlund, try to escape from the patriarch's computer code, where the elder Flynn has been trapped for 20 years. The two are helped by a warrior, played by /*Olivia Wilde*/.

It has been over 20 years since the original 'TRON' film was released in theaters and its sequel proved to be a box office champ.

The film, which stars Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund, took in $43.6 million over the weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is the sequel to a 1982 film and is set for release on Friday.
