Tom Hanks has 'new hood ornament' for car - an Emmy (Video)
Tom Hanks may want to drive slowly.
The 59-year-old won his sixth Emmy at Sunday's ceremony, for the HBO film "Game Change," and jokingly displayed a statuette on the hood of a black vehicle, as seen in a video he posted on his WhoSay page after the event ended.
His wife, actress Rita Wilson, posted a photo of Hanks taping the award to the sedan.
"@tomhanks new hood ornament?" she joked.
Wilson posted a slew of photos of her and Hanks on the day of the Emmy Awards, including a picture of the two sitting inside a vehicle.
"I think @tomhanks and I will make out in the backseat of this car on the way to the Emmys," she Tweeted.
"Game Change" won five Emmys. Hanks shared the prize for Outstanding Miniseries Or Movie with several fellow executive producers, including Gary Goetzman, Michelle Graham and Jay Roach.
Julianne Moore won an Emmy for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her performance as Sarah Palin in the film, which is about the Republican leader's 2008 vice presidential campaign. The movie was criticized by several of the politician's former aides and Moore said in her acceptance speech: "Wow. I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down."
Hanks won his first Emmy in 1998, for the miniseries "From The Earth To The Moon." In 2002, Hanks won his second and third Emmys, for Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for "Band of Brothers." he won his fourth Emmy in 2008 for co-producing the miniseries "John Adams." Emmy No. 5 came in 2010, when he won the award for Outstanding Miniseries for "The Pacific."
Hanks has received a total of 11 Emmys nods, although none were given for acting. The actor has won two Oscars. He won his first for his title role in the 1993 film "Forrest Gump" and earned his second for his leading part in the 1994 movie "Philadelphia," in which he played Andrew Beckett, a gay lawyer who sues his former law firm for discrimination once it comes to light that he has AIDS (see a video of his acceptance speech).
