The final film in "The Twilight Saga" is set to have a big debut weekend.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" reportedly earned $71.2 million on Friday to top the box office, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In the movie, Bella, now a vampire, and Edward fight the Volturi to protect their child Renesmee, who is a half vampire/half human hybrid. The Volturi set out to kill the Bella and Edward's daughter after they are led to believe Renesmee is an immortal child - a child who was turned into a vampire - which goes against vampire rule, since immortal children are considered unpredictable and uncontrollable.

The entertainment magazine notes that the opening number lags behind the $71.6 million "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" earned on its opening day.

The latest James Bond movie "Skyfall" dropped to second place after earning the top spot at the box office last week. The Daniel Craig film earned $12.4 million on Friday and Entertainment Weekly predicts the film will take in an addition $42 million once the weekend is over.

In "Skyfall," which was helmed by "American Beauty" director Sam Mendes, Daniel Craig reprises his role as James Bond. The movie sees Bond's loyalty to Judi Dench's character, MI6 chief M, tested after her past comes back to haunt her. The British Secret Intelligence Service is attacked and 007 sets off to stop its perpetrator.

In third place is the biopic "Lincoln," directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role. The film earned $6.4 million on Friday.

The CGI animated family film "Wreck-It Ralph," came in fourth place, having earned $4.5 million on Friday. The film features the voices of John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman and tells the story of a video game villain's quest to become the good guy.

Finishing out the top five for Friday, according to the magazine, is the Denzel Washington drama "Flight." The film earned $2.5 million.
