'The Social Network' star Armie Hammer cast opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in biopic

"The Social Network" star Armie Hammer, who played twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has just been cast in the upcoming J. Edgar Hoover biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio, reports E! News.

In the film, which is titled "J. Edgar" and directed by Clint Eastwood, DiCaprio plays the first Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Hammer will play Hoover's protégé and alleged love interest Clyde Tolson. Tolson was the associate director of the FBI under Hoover.

The script was penned by "Milk" screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, who won an Academy Award for his work. The role will Hammer's first role since "The Social Network." Hammer, 24, has been getting Oscar buzz for his performance in the film.
