'The Flash' - first image released, CW pilot stars Grant Gustin (Photo)
Check out the first image for the new CW pilot "The Flash," a spinoff of the network's show "Arrow" that is based on the popular DC Comics character.
Grant Gustin reprises his role as Barry Allen, a forensic investigator who becomes The Flash, aka the Fastest Man Alive, after a freak accident gives him the power of super speed. Warner Bros. Entertainment released the first photo for the pilot, which despicts Gustin in his superhero costume for the first time, on Friday, Feb. 28. His red suit was designed by Colleen Atwood, who won three Oscars for her work on "Alice in Wonderland," "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Chicago." She also designed Stephen Amell's costume for "Arrow."
Gustin, 24-year-old native of Virginia, is also known for his past roles as Sebastian Smythe on the FOX show "Glee" and Campbell Price on the CW series "90210."
Production on the pilot of "The Flash is set to begin next week, warner Bros. Entertainment said in a statement to OTRC.com.
