The Black Eyed Peas plan to play the 2011 Super Bowl half-time show on February 6 at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas, marking the first time a non-rock act has performed on the biggest stage on television in seven years.

The Grammy-winning hip hop group, which has toured and topped charts all over the world with singles such as "My Humps", "I Gotta Feeling" and "Boom Boom Pow", will release its sixth studio album, "The Beginning", on Tuesday. More than 153 million people in the United States watched the Super Bowl half-time show last year.

Previous performers at the half-time show of the NFL championship game include the Rolling Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen and the Who, which played during the 2010 Super Bowl and whose hit song "My Generation" was remixed by Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am for an ad to promote the event.

Check out the music video for the Black Eyed Peas' song "The Time (Dirty Bit)" from the group's new album, "The Beginning", which remixes the famous 1980s song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from the Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey film "Dirty Dancing".
