Taylor Swift has been seemingly "linked" to several popular male celebrities in the past few years, but she wants to make one thing clear -- she's only dated two people since 2010.

The 23-year-old singer posed with an acoustic guitar for the April 2013 cover of Vanity Fair magazine, opening up about her love life and past relationships.

"If you want some big revelation, since 2010 I have dated exactly two people," the songstress told the magazine, referring to Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles.

"The fact that there are slide shows of a dozen guys that I either hugged on a red carpet or met for lunch or wrote a song with ... it's just kind of ridiculous," she explained. "It's why I have to avoid the tabloid part of our culture, because they turn you into a fictional character."

The songstress, who is known for her narrative songs about her experiences as a young woman, went on to explain how the media's portrayal of her life is borderline "sexist."

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated - a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," she told the magazine.

In January, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler poked fun at the starlet while hosting the Golden Globes, urging her to "stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," adding that she could use "some me time to learn about herself." Swift addressed their joke in her Vanity Fair interview, citing some advice she received from a mentor.

"You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, 'There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women,'" she told the magazine.

Poehler has since responded to Swift's comments, saying: "Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist and she is a young and talented girl," she told The Hollywood Reporter on March 5. "That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff."

Earlier this month, Swift appeared on the cover of Elle magazine, clearing up another misconception: she doesn't chase boys.

"I'm sure if I looked up the latest Google Alerts rumor it would say I'm chasing somebody who doesn't like me as much as I like him -- people love that angle on me," she told ELLE. "They're like 'Oh Taylor, coming on too strong again, chasing boys.' I never chase boys. They don't like it!"

Swift dated Kennedy last summer and went out with "Twilight" actor Taylor Lautner in 2009. She has also been linked to the likes of John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Cory Monteith and One Direction singer Styles. Swift has usually remained coy when asked about her reported romances but has released many songs about breakups.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres poked fun at her about it on her talk show in October 2012, running a slideshow of photos of men the singer has been linked to while playing her then-new song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." She asked Swift to ring a bell when the person the track is about was displayed. The singer refused, saying the game "makes me feel so bad about myself."

Swift recently attended the 2013 Grammy Awards. She arrived solo, just as she has usually done at major press events in the past. The singer wore an ivory J. Mendel Spring 2013 Grecian gown with silver straps and silver Jimmy Choo "Lance" sandals (See photo above, watch video below). She also performed at the star-studded event (See photo).
