Taylor Swift has signed on to do voice-over work in CGI-animated Universal and Illumination Entertainment movie, "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax," alongside Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Rob Riggle and Betty White, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"The Lorax" follows an idealistic young boy (Efron) who is trying to get the attention of his dream girl (Swift) and looks for the remorseful Once-ler (Helms) to find out what the world used to look like before it was so polluted. Once-ler tells the boy the story of the Lorax (DeVito), a moody creature who speaks for the trees and once tried to protect his world against the Once-ler's destruction against the environment.

In the film, White will voice Efron's grandmother who tells him of how beautiful the world once was and and "The Daily Show" alumni Riggle will voice a greedy entrepreneur who sells canned air in the polluted world.

"The Lorax" brings together many of those responsible for Illumination Entertainment's first movie, "Despicable Me," including director Chris Renaud and screenwriters Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.

Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, published 44 children's books in his lifetime, including "Green Eggs and Ham," "The Cat in the Hat" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

This will be Swift's second film, following her performance in the 2010 romantic comedy "Valentine's Day." Swift is currently on her "Speak Now World Tour" which ends on October 8, 2011.

According to Variety, the film is aiming for a March 2, 2012 release, which would have been the 108th birthday of Dr. Seuss, who died at 87 in 1991.
