Taylor Swift was recently awarded a plaque and Tiffany & Co. cuff bracelet for achieving a major milestone at Los Angeles' Staples Center and then gave 20 college students a gift of her own -- free tickets.

The 23-year-old pop and country star received her awards on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at a press conference. Swift was honored for becoming the first solo artist to have sold out 11 concerts in total at Staples Center. The Latin pop group Mana was the first to sell out 11 shows at the arena.

Staples' senior vice president and general manager presented Swift with a plaque and Tiffany cuff bracelet, which appeared to be made of sterling silver).

"Oh wow. This is great. This is nice," Swift said, after she opened the signature robin egg blue box to reveal her gift.

Tiffany & Co. sterling silver cuffs retail from $700 to $1,250. Her piece of jewelry was inscribed with the words "Staples Center 11 record-breaking sold-out shows." Swift broke records previously held by Britney Spears (eight sold-out shows) and Justin Timberlake and Madonna (seven sold-out shows).

The students, who are studying music in various schools and are members of the Grammy U group, attended the press conference after going to a sound check for her concert that day -- the second out of four sold-out shows, which are part of her 2013 RED tour.

"These are sold-out shows but I held back 20 tickets if you guys wanted to come tonight," she said. "I don't know if you're busy or anything but if you wanted to come, you certainly can. I'm very happy to have you guys and very excited that you guys are interested in music and also interested in what we do so I'll see you later."

At the concert, Swift was joined by Canadian indie rock duo Tegan and Sara, who performed the song "Closer" with the pop star.

Swift attended the press event wearing an ivory Elie Saab Fall/Winter 2013 Ready-to-Wear blouse with sheer lace detail tucked into black pleated shorts from the designer's Resort 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection. (See more PHOTOS of Taylor Swift being honored at Staples Center on Aug. 20.)
