Tara Reid says she's working on 'Big Lebowski 2,' Coen brothers disagree
Tara Reid said in an interview last week that she would be working on two sequels this year, "American Pie 4" and "Big Lebowski 2," much to the bemusement of the "Big Lebowski" creators, Joel and Ethan Coen.
"I have a movie coming out called 'The Fields,'" Tara said in a red carpet interview, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. "I have another one coming out that I produced with my brother in March, called 'The Irishman,' it's based on a true story. And we'll be doing 'American Pie 4' this year and 'Big Lebowski 2' this year."
In the original Coen brothers flick, Reid played Bunny Lebowski, the Big Lebowski's young trophy wife who was once a porn star.
This week, the Coen brothers were asked in an interview on Austin360.com whether they had any comment on Reid's declaration.
"I'm glad she's working on it," Ethan Coen said. When asked whether there would be a sequel to their cult classic, he clarified, "Well, we don't but we'll watch it when it comes out."
"Especially if Tara's in it," Joel Coen added.
Reid's representative told Entertainment Weekly that the actress was perhaps referring to a comment that Jeff Bridges made, insinuating that he wanted to make a sequel with all the original cast members.
