Entertainment News: tv recaps
The season 3 finale of "Glee" featured highs and lows for many characters and couples, including the future of one key couple left hanging for next season. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Red Hot Right Now
Who's going to win on "Dancing With The Stars?" It's anybody's guess! It's kind of nice that this season there hasn't been one clear-cut frontrunner from the beginning (paging Nicole Scherzinger). Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, and Hines Ward all have their strengths and all three showcase their talent in a big way for part one of the finals.
Each of the three couples took the dance floor twice: once with a "judge's choice" dance, and again with the fan favorite freestyle! Here's the scoring breakdown, from highest to lowest. SPOILER ALERT!
At the start of the semi-final round of "Dancing With The Stars," we weren't really focused so much on who danced what and how well they did it. All eyes were on Kym Johnson after her terrifying fall last week during rehearsals with her partner Hines Ward. They showed the accident during their pre-tape segment and it's something I only ever want to see once. It looked horribly painful, and sounded even worse. When we heard her say "I can't feel my arms," my heart sank. But that Kym is a trouper, and somehow she rebounded enough to perform not one, not two, but three dances for this round. So bravo to Ms. Johnson!
Now back to the competition: each couple performed two full dance routines, and then took part in some sort of "Cha Cha dance off." Here's a rundown, from highest score to lowest. SPOILER ALERT
Week seven really is a dance-filled show. The six remaining couples each do their own competitive routine, plus we also have the Team Cha Cha! Their team scores will be added to their individual scores for a grand total. But guess what -- SPOILER ALERT! -- the two teams tied with their Team Cha Cha scores so essentially, it doesn't mean anything. Except the stars are really tired!
Week six started out the same as always, with the big announcer open, and a hello from Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke. And then we jump right into a song from... Hansen? Thank goodness Tony Dovolani and Lacey Schwimmer led the JV dance team out onto the floor to remind us what we're watching. It's all a set up for "Guilty Pleasures" theme night and apparently the now grown kids from Hansen are somebody's guilty musical pleasure.
This week, each celebrity got to choose a song that they love, but one that they might be a little embarrassed to admit is a favorite. Who's on top? Here's the rundown, from highest score to lowest score. Warning, spoilers ahead!
It's a little sad that "Dancing with the Stars" has an All-American themed night and the one Olympic champ on the roster got kicked to the curb last week. I'm sure producers would have loved to have Sugar Ray Leonard on the rundown for week five!
Oh well, we don't get to see his gold medal, but we've still got Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, Petra Nemcova, Kendra Wilkinson, Romeo, Chris Jericho, Ralph Macchio and Hines Ward all shaking what they've got in the name of the red, white and blue. The scores are close this week - here's the lowdown, from highest to lowest.Warning, spoilers ahead!
Kirstie Alley gets another chance to prove she's a pro who understands the meaning of "the show must go on," Mark Ballas pushes the choreography envelope again, and both Hines Ward and Ralph Macchio show that they are in it to win it! But first, kudos goes out to the producers of "Dancing with the Stars" for coming up with new and creative themes for season 12. Read on for the results from round four. Warning, spoilers ahead!
It's "story night" on "Dancing with the Stars" and no, that doesn't mean we're heading to the local library. Although wouldn't it be fun to have Maks read you a bedtime story? The couple's routines are supposed to tell a "personal tale," with their dances embodying a particular story that is close to the celebrity's heart: one that highlights love, loss, triumph or tears. And with most of the routines, we see a little of each of those emotions, and more.
Read on for the results from round three. Warning, spoilers ahead!
It will take a math whiz to figure out tonight's results on "Dancing With The Stars." We have two sets of judge's scores, plus last week's viewer votes, and this week's viewer votes. I'm sure there is a master computer somewhere that will figure out the final tally. Or maybe Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke, stuck in a tiny room with an abacus?
But in the meantime, here are the results from round two. Warning, spoilers ahead!
Season 12 begins!
This time around, "Dancing With The Stars" has brought together yet another group of actors, athletes and reality stars, with a supermodel and a popular Los Angeles DJ thrown in for good measure. You may not be familiar with all these names right now, but we've been able to meet many of the competitors during the "Dancing With The Stars" rehearsal time, and they are a very fun and friendly group. Warning, spoilers ahead!
