The cast for the TLC biopic for VH1 was announced on Monday, February 19, and Keke Palmer, rapper Lil Mama and Drew Sidora will play Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins for a full-length TV movie based on the life and career of the R&B/Hip-Hop group.

Palmer, a 19-year-old actress and singer, is known for her roles in "Akeela & The Bee," "True Jackson VP" and "Joyful Noise." Lil Mama is a 23-year-old rapper known for the song "Lip Gloss" who was also a judge on the show "America's Best Dance Crew." Sidora, 27, is an actress who starred in "Step Up," "Wild Hogs" and "The Game." Be sure to tell us what you think of the casting in our poll below!

The film is called "Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story" and will be directed by "Drumline" director KeKe Charles Stone III. The TV movie is slated to begin shooting next month in Atlanta.

"With this cast, we are thrilled with the talent assembled both in front of and behind the cameras," Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production of VH1, said in a statement. "TLC are truly music pioneers and this movie is a fantastic way to expand our scripted push by combining our audience's passion for music with their love of story. We know our viewers will be eager to go beyond the headlines and into the surprisingly personal, never before told stories of these groundbreaking women."

The two surviving members of the group, Thomas and Watkins, will serve as consultants and executive producers for the movie.

TLC had their biggest success in the 1990s with their sophomore album "CrazySexyCool," released in 1994. The album, which features singles like "Creep" and "Waterfalls," sold 22 million copies worldwide. Their follow-up album "Fan Mail" was also a success with the single "Scrubs."

Lopes made headlines in 1994 when she lit her boyfriend's tennis shoes on fire in a bathtub. The flames spread around the mansion the two lived in and the home was burned down. Lopes died in April 2002 in a car crash in Honduras.

In an April 2012 interview both Thomas and Watkins reflected on Lopes' death.

"I was sitting in a rocking chair in my daughter's room after putting her down when I got a call from Chilli. She was screaming," Watkins told Essence magazine about how she was told of Lopes' death. "I had just gotten out the hospital from fighting sickle cell so I had to be careful about getting upset. Everybody was trying to keep me calm."

"I remember staying up all night and Patti Labelle and Missy Elliot calling me. Whitney Houston was at Lisa's funeral," she added. "She sat behind me and rubbed my shoulders for two hours, while telling me, 'It's going to be okay, it's going to be all right.'

The film does not have an official premiere date set. What do you think of the casting? Vote in our poll below.
